Joint Admission Test (JAM) Admission Process Commences
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, which organized the Joint Admission Test (JAM) this year, has issued a notification inviting eligible candidates to apply online for JAM M.Sc. 2016 admissions. The candidates who have cleared the JAM 2016 can now apply for admissions to the various courses.

- JAM 2016 qualifed candidates can now apply for JAM 2016 Admission. Last date for submitting online application is 27th April 2016.
- Qualified candidates can change their category during the application for admission.
- Mandatory Documents for all:
- XII or HSC Marksheet
- Qualifying degree: If you have completed the degree: Marksheets of all semesters/ years. If you are in the final year, Marksheets till the last semester/ year is sufficient. But your admission is only Provisional.
- Nationality Certificate for General Category:
Birth Certificate or Voter ID or First page of Passport or School/College Transfer Certificate (TC) showing Nationality or Nationality Certificate issued by the authorized government agency.
Please note that any other documents viz. Aadhar Card, Ration Card, Driving License, College/ Institute/ School ID, Bank Passbook, PAN card, Marksheets are not accepted as Nationality Certificate.
If applicants are not able to upload the Nationality Certificate at the time of admission, they can submit the same to the Admitting Institute at the time of admission. - Other Documents:
- Category Certificate for OBC(NCL), SC, ST Applicants
- PwD Certificate for PwD Applicants.
- Refunds for multiple successful payments would be initiated after 30th April 2016.
- Submission of application with payment - Log into JOAPS.
- After scrutiny success, SMS / Email would be sent.
- Announcement of admission offers by SMS / Email / JAM 2016 website.
- Candidates are expected to choose one of the following, if they get offer (by log into JOAPS)
Accept and Freeze
Accept with Upgrade
Reject and Quit - Accept ** decisions are followed by payment of Seat-Booking Fee (Additional transaction charges, may be added).
Note: The Accept ** decisions are considered as complete only with successful payment of Seat-Booking Fee. - Reject and Quit decision is followed by confirmation OTP(one time password sent to registered mobile number) entered by the candidate in JOAPS.
- All Candidates offered admission by organising Institute will receive formal offer letter by Admitting Institutes.
- Candidates who chose Accept ** decisions can withdraw from the programme by log into JOAPS and by selecting Withdraw.
- Withdraw decision is confirmed by entering the OTP (one time password sent to registered mobile number) in JOAPS.
- Candidate reports to Admitting Institute on the day of admission as per the offer letter from Admitting Institute.
JAM 2016 Results are shared with: IISER,Pune; MNNIT, Allahabad; IISER, Bhopal; and CCMN for NITs(*)
(*) CCMN 2016 is the common counselling platform for 17 institutes - NITs (Agartala, Allahabad, Arunachal Pradesh, Calicut, Durgapur, Jaipur, Jalandhar, Jamshedpur, Manipur, Nagaland, Nagpur, Rourkela, Silchar, Srinagar, Warangal), IIEST Shibpur and SLIET Punjab.
